Auchentoshan, meaning `Corner of the field’ in Gaelic, produces a delicate, smooth and light single Malt Whisky.

The unique subtle aroma and flavour of this whisky is achieved by being matured in 3 different casks: American Bourbon, Spanish Oloroso Sherry and finally Pedro Ximenez Sherry Casks, producing a rich complex whisky with incredible toffee and sherry oak flavours.

Longmorn 16 year old 10.00
Built on the site of an old chapel, the Longmorn Distillery was founded in 1894. Beautiful example of bourbon cask maturation.
Nose: A sweet tempting almost heady coconut fragrance. Like walking among gorse on a summer day. Opens on biscuity aromas.
Palate: Smooth, silky. Marzipan, macaroon, chocolate & cereal bar.
HIGHLAND SINGLE MALTS
Glen Garioch 15 yr old 6.00
Glen Garioch Distillery is situated in Old Meldrum in the Scottish Highlands. Glen Garioch, one of the oldest & most endearing distilleries, established in 1797, takes its name from the Valley of the Garioch, traditionally the finest barley growing area of Scotland.
Nose: Hints of Lavender and Oak.
Palate: Sweet syrup with rich fruit notes.
Finish: Long, mellow and very sumptuous with traces of peat.
Balvenie Doublewood 12 yr old 6.50
Matured in two woods: a traditional oak cask & a Spanish oak sherry cask. Each stage lends different qualities; the traditional casks, having previously held bourbon, soften and add character, whilst the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour.
Nose: Sweat maple smell
Palate: Starts with a sweet taste with hints of maple fading with a smokey, slightly peaty finish
Dalmore 12 year old 6.00
Fuses together the sweet, vanilla rich from ex-bourbon barrels with the aromatic and dried fruits characters from Spanish sherry casks
Nose: Orange marmalade, malt and sherry.
Taste: Elegant and rich with concentrated citrus, Oloroso sherry
Glen Morangie The Quinta Ruben 10.00
Glenmorangie has existed since 1843 and is famous for the tallest stills in Scotland, though Bruichladdich claim their stills are taller.
Aroma: One sniff and you’re transported to a traditional Christmas dinner party, in a candle-lit dining room with the aroma of just-peeled mandarin oranges & Belgian chocolate mint crisps.
Taste: Rich, dark chocolate-enrobed walnuts leaving in their wake the lemony-rose jelly texture of Turkish delight & crystallised orange segments emerge, countered by crisp mint chocolate.
ISLAY SINGLE MALTS
Laphroaig 10 yr old 5.00
Laphroaig, pronounced “La-froyg”, is Gaelic meaning “the beautiful hollow by the broad bay”. Famously peated & distilled in 7 stills, each unique by virtue of their unusual flat sides & base.
Nose: Phenolic - seaweedy - very peaty with a hint of sweetness.
Palate: Richly smoky, fully peated with a hint of salty-sweetness.
Lagavulin 1993 Distillers Edition 10.00
Lagavulin stands near the ruins of Dunyveg Castle from where 1,000 Islaymen set sail to fight alongside Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn in 1314. Allegedly, Johnny Depp, a tee-totaller, sometimes orders a dram of this and just sniffs it (it’s that good). A worthy classic.
Nose: Seaweedy - very peaty with a hint of sweetness.
Palate: Richly smoky, fully peated with a hint of salty-sweetness.
Caol Ila 1996 Distillers Edition 10.00
Caol Ila is the Gaelic name for the Sound of Islay, which separates the island from Jura in one of the most remote and beautiful parts of Scotland’s West Coast. This whisky goes well with seafood!
Nose: Wonderfully concentrated, pure with rich fruit, spicy and fragrant. With water, the fragrant smokiness comes singing through.
Palate: Caol Ila’s signature smoky bonfires. Overall, drying, in a beautifully balanced, complex, development with cinnamon spice.
Bowmore 15 yr old 6.00
A very nice nose marked by sherry, some discrete hay notes, a touch of peat and smoke in the background. A really nice dram.
Nose: Treacle, sweet coffee, fig rolls and sweet coffee ice cream.
Palate: Treacle toffee and a viscous oily yet creamy texture. Rich malt and a hint of smoke.
Ardbeg 10 yr old 5.00
The aroma is a beguiling mix of toffee & chocolate sweetness, cinnamon spice and medicinal phenols. Vanilla sweetness & fragrance of citrus fruits are never far behind, maintaining balance & intrigue.
Taste: An initial moderate and clean sweetness of deep peat notes, with tobacco smoke and strong espresso coffee, which then gives way to treacle sweetness and liquorice. Not for the faint hearted
